Guru Lineage

In the year 1990, I came to know about my Guru Ma Champagamba through a colleague of mine, Mr. Sundaresan. He spoke about his Guru, whom I didn’t realize at the time would have such a profound impact on my life. He told me that his Guru was Mrs. Lakshmi Chandramouli (Champagamba). I expressed my interest in meeting her to Sundaresan, and he said he would need to check with his Guru to see if I could visit her.

In the meantime, I continued performing Pooja to Lalithambiga. I also went to Bhuvaneswari Swamigal to receive Dheeksha, but I heard a voice telling me that my Guru was a lady, so I returned without proceeding further.

Later, after September 1990, Sundaresan informed me that Guru Ma had called and invited me to visit her. I was overjoyed and ready to meet her. On the day of the visit, about 25 of us were preparing to leave early in the morning for Korattur to meet Guru Ma Champagamba. I boarded the van and sat in the front seat. The driver played a cassette that was supposed to be the Lalitha Sahasranama Stotra, but instead, I started hearing the voice of Guru Ma.

When we arrived at her residence, she came out of her room, met us all, and asked, “Who is Tafe Raja?” I stepped forward, and she asked me to return a month later for Ganapathy initiation. She made all the arrangements and instructed me to arrive at 4 a.m. The prasadam that day included Kozhakattai, Appam, Idli, and Poori. I was overwhelmed and deeply moved by her affection toward me.

I went back with my father-in-law and later received Upadesam for Ma Bhuvaneswari, Sowbhagya Panchakasari, Shiva Panchakasari, Aswarooda, Sampathkari, and Mathangi — all of which I have shared as moola mantras (downloads).
